Glasgow Life is looking for an Assistant Manager to join us on a 35 hour per week permanent contract. As an Assistant Manager you will be joining our in-demand team in the Clip & climb/soft play & café facility at Kelvin Hall.

As an Assistant Manager you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Sport team, playing your part in encouraging people to live an active Glasgow life. Through sport and physical activity, we promote inclusion and wellbeing throughout the city. As a Glasgow Life Assistant Manager at Kelvin Hall you will thrive in an environment where no two days are the same. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for providing effective day to day management of the Kelvin Hall including the Cafe, Soft Play and Climbing facility. You will supervise a team of staff, providing guidance and support, assisting them to carry out their function effectively. You will allocate duties and responsibility within the team ensuring that all work is concluded to prescribed standards and timescales while ensuring cognisance of Health & Safety matters.

You will take responsibility for the implementation of shift rotas & sickness absence monitoring. You will take responsibility for the procurement of food and beverage products for the Café in line with set financial targets and any other duties that are deemed appropriate to the grade and role.

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience of working within a catering and/or children’s play environment is essential
  • Ability to work on a flexible shift pattern (including regular weekend and evening working)
  • Fun and flexible approach to the demands of a busy children’s indoor activity centre
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working within soft play and/or climbing centre and delivering small events are desirable
  • HNC in Leisure Management, Level 3 Supervising food safety in catering, knowledge of HACCP, food preparation training and Barista are desirable
